Portrait of Anne-Krystel Baldock

My name is Anne-Krystel Baldock. I'm 20 and was born in France. However, I spent 13 years out of the country in English-speaking countries (England and Australia). My dad is Australian and I grew up in the country. My parents aren't interested by agriculture whereas I have always lived animals and breeding. When I finish school, I would like to start a farm to rescue mistreated farm animals, even though I know that you don't make money out of that.
I wasn't there when the students arrived as I was working on one of the school farms, so I only met them on thursday, and was quite surprised at the way they spoke English so well compared to us. They were very nice and open, and the time spent with them was fun.

Portrait of Marion Delory
My name is Marion Delory, I was born in France and am very interested by agriculture. My dad is a farmer and we grow crops. When I finish my studies, I would like to look after horses or be a specialist in goat and sheep inseminating.
During the week, I learnt that it was very difficult to speak English with the students as I don't speak well at all, however the conferences were very interesting.
The students were very nice and spoke English very well which was a good surprise!

 Portrait of Ophélie
My name is Ophélie, I'm 19. I am a student at the agricultural school in Vendôme (France).I have been here for 5 years now, during 2 years, I enjoyed being a resident student.
I began to study sciences and today, I choose to work on Animals Productions at the lycée.What I prefer is practice, that is manipulation of cows, pigs and sheep, for example castrations, drug injections...
When the foreign students arrived, I was in training period at the school farm. So, I wasn't able to welcome them. However, they came later on the farm and I enjoyed answering their numerous questions.
Despite some language difficulties, our guests were very interested and we have shared a great time.

 Portrait of Emilie Leblanc
Hi, my name is Emilie, I am 23 years old and I am a student in year two in a BTS specialized in animal production.
I was born in the Parisian region but my heart belongs to the department of Vendee next to the Atlantic coast.
Before I came in Vendôme, I studied three years at the university for a bachelor's degree in science.
These two weeks of exchange between Romanian, Slovakian and French people were very enriching. It was a real opportunity to learn what happens in other countries : in terms of sheep breeding of course, but also in terms of traditional customs and daily life.
I particularly enjoyed speaking English with them because we seldom have the opportunity to practise here in Vendôme.
I hope I will be able to visit at least one of these countries (both of them would be better !) so that this exchange can be mutual.
I really enjoyed meeting you !

 Portrait of Catalin Nicolaiciuc (Roumanie)
Hi, I`m at the University of Agricultural Science and Veterinary Medicine Iasi, Romania, where I study my last year (IV) in Animal Husbandry. I like very much all the things that happened in this program. I had the opportunity to met new people who are very different and still so alike. Through their behaviour make me think that they have no worries, they are the kind of people who laugh and smile all day and this makes me feel well. Another thing that I liked is that we could communicate in English so I could practice my skills and on this occasion I want to say that they should have more courage to speak English because they do quite well.
I`m very pleased to participate in this intensive program because through it I can find out the problems faced by farmers in other countries and possibilities for solving these problems. With this intensive program I will can give solution when farmers from my country will face such problems as those presented in the workshops I attended and I think the same will do and other participants.
I hope in future to keep in touch.

It was a nice experience in general. I learned a lot about people from Slovakia and about their culture. I have also learned many things about French traditions and about their opinion of the future. The school is well organized and the farm has a lot to offer to the students. If I were to grade this experience from 0 – 20, then I think a 18 is fare. In conclusion I liked it here, and I will come again to France.

My visit in France was a lovely experience, which I will never forget. I was impressed, from beginning, by the French education and by the, team spirit; in my opinion the education system is the well organized. And in to the production system is the same. Here in France I had the chance to see a chemistry laboratory very well equipped. I am satisfied by the organization of this program.

Portrait of Razvan Radu-Rusu  (Roumanie)
Hello everyone! A really interesting idea to share knowledge and friendship through a blog such this one.
A few words about me: I'd love to be a student again but I try to compensate the impossible time reverse by working with my beloved students. Well, I am attracted by certain animal sciences as Anatomy, Poultry Science, Food quality control and, of course, Sheep and goats husbandry.
Among the extra-professional hobbies, I could list Nature, Cats, Mountain climbing, Trains and Radiocommunications.
I was pleased to be involved these days in such a great international team. Each one had something to learn. I hope that the links between us will not end as the intensive program ends and, why not, we should establish future research networks across Europe, starting from a project like this.
Best wishes to you all!

Portrait of Constantin Pascal  (Roumanie)
I am professor at the Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine University, Animal Science Faculty in Iasi, co-ordinator of the Romanian team.
Certain activities such this one, based on European mobilities, are really benefficial because they establish contact between students and teachers from countries with different cultures but have similar preoccupations. I consider that such activities should be encouraged, developed and supported by the European Union.
In Vendome we attended and were benneficiars of an intensive program based on theoretical presentations and practical approaches, which contributed to a better knowledge of the field and to launch an appeal for the "reconquete ovine".

My name is Pavol and I study at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra- Faculty of agrobiology  and  food resources.During my stay I saw many new things.I liked the landscapes and little farms in the middle of the French countryside. I was very surprised when I saw the school farm near the school,so students don't need to travel far for practice lessons like they do at my university. I think it is very good for students because they can spend their free time on the farm if they want.  I met a lot of new French friends and I spent a lot of time talking about things that are different in my country. I am glad that I can be a part of the Intensive program of Sheep breeding on a European scale. It was very interesting to visit the highschool of Vendôme, I thing it is very good that the french students have a lot of practical work, they can spend a lot of time with animals. The students are very interested in breeding. I would like to have such conditions at my University and slovak students should be more interested in breeding animals like the french students. The organization on farms is very good in France, it would be good to have such an organization in Slovakia. I am really very happy to be here and get a lot of information.
